The Scottish Government has announced that it will make grants totalling almost £18 million to help support sustainable farming.

We gave details of the Sustainable Agricultural Capital Grant Scheme (SACGS) In our blog of 5 September 2020.  The fund opened for applications on 7 September 2020 and closed on 11 October 2020. A total of 3,735 applications were received and over 3,500 of these have been accepted.

The successful applicants will receive letters with grant offers to help to fund the purchase of agricultural equipment chosen for its effectiveness in reducing greenhouse gases.  The successful farmers and crofters will have until 21 December 2020 to accept their offer. They will then have until 31 March 2021 to purchase the equipment and claim the grant.
