Covid-19 – Additional Support for Providers of Day Care for Children in Scotland
Additional support is available from the Scottish Government through the Transitional Support Fund for organisations which provide day care for children in Scotland. This support is available to organisations in the private, voluntary and not for profit sectors.
The purpose of this support is to assist organisations with costs associated with ensuring compliance with public health requirements during the Covid-19 pandemic. Such costs could include additional cleaning or the implementation of systems required to satisfy social distancing measures.
The support takes the form of a one off grant. The amount of the grant depends on the number of places registered to the care provider. Applicants are not required to show evidence of actual expenditure incurred.
Grants range from £1,500 for smaller organisations (up to 10 registered places) to £8,000 (for locations with more than 100 registered places).
Eligibility for this support depends on holding appropriate registration with the Care Inspectorate as a provider of day care for children. Organisations providing eligible services at multiple sites may apply for a separate grant for each location provided that each location holds a separate Care Inspectorate registration.
