The Scottish Government has announced that it has set aside £100 million for The December and January Top Up Fund.
This will enable the Scottish Government to provide a one-off payment to support Scottish businesses affected by the latest December 2021 public health advice.
Who is this for?
This £100 million fund is for Scottish businesses in the following sectors affected by public health guidance in December 2021:
- hospitality – £66 million
- some parts of the wedding sector supply chain – £3 million
- wholesalers affected by hospitality cancellations – £8 million
- some parts of the tourism sector, including inbound tour operators – £3 million
- culture sector – £20 million
Which businesses are eligible?
- Eligible hospitality businesses that previously received support through the Strategic Framework Business Fund (SFBF) will receive a top up payment. They will be contacted directly by their local authority.
- Further guidance will be published in the week beginning Monday 20 December for new hospitality businesses that have not previously received funding through SFBF

How long will it take to get a payment?
Payments will be made “as soon as possible” in January.
Will there be any more funding available?
The Scottish Government has advised that it has asked the UK Government to provide additional financing so that it can provide further support to affected businesses.
