The Scottish Coronavirus Business Support Fund is now accepting applications. Please note that you need to apply for the grant, which is contrary to the advice given earlier this week by the Scottish Government.
The grant funding is available to help owners of non-domestic properties, including businesses, deal with the impact of COVID-19.
Retail, hospitality and leisure businesses with a rateable value between £18,000 and up to and including £51,000 will be able to apply for a one-off grant of £25,000. The closing date for applications is 10 July 2020.
A one-off grant of £10,000 will also be available to small businesses who get:
- Small Business Bonus Scheme relief
- Rural Relief
You can also get this grant if you applied for Nursery Relief or Disabled Relief but are eligible for the Small Business Bonus Scheme.
You can only apply for one grant – even if you own multiple properties.
However, the devil is in the detail and, disappointingly, there are a number of businesses that are not eligible to claim these grants. A full list of the excluded businesses is included on the application form.
There is a separate application form for each local council. You can use this website to link through to your local council https://www.mygov.scot/non-domestic-rates-coronavirus/
After you select your local council you should click on the link providing information and guidance on coronavirus. You will then have to navigate to the application form for business support.
If you have any questions about these grants, or require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.
