PAYE payment deadline for December falls on a weekend

In December the electronic payment deadline of 22^nd falls on a Sunday.  Employers need to ensure that their PAYE payment reaches HMRC on time, cleared funds need to be in HMRC’s account by 20^th December unless a Faster Payment can be arranged.

HMRC are reminding employers that it’s their responsibility to ensure payments are made on time and if your payment is late you may be charged a penalty.
