If you pay your VAT quarterly by direct debit and missed the sign-up window for the 7 August 2019 (30 June 2019 quarter) submission, HMRC have announced that you will not be penalised this time, so long as your VAT Return was filed on time the old way.

HMRC will have sent you a letter advising that you missed the deadline and requesting that you take action.

The next quarterly submission is due by 7 November 2019 (30 September 2019 quarter).  If you have received a letter from HMRC and have still not signed up for MTD, please contact us if you require assistance as soon as possible.
