1. What is a typical work day for you?: I respond to queries from clients and other departments regarding the tax treatment of transactions or potential situations. This usually involves meetings or phone calls where I try to ascertain the relevant details. I’ll then produce a tax calculation based on this information.

2. If you wern’t a tax advisor, what would you be?: A city tour guide. I used to give tours around Edinburgh as a student. I really enjoy performing and teaching.

3. What pets did you have when you were growing up and what were their names? I had a cat called “splat” and a gerbil called “haggis”.

4. What is your favourite hobby/pastime? I play many different types of musical instruments. I perform around the pubs of Edinburgh too.

5. What fictional place would you most like to go to? I like the song of ice and fire series (game of thrones) and I think Westeros would be interesting to visit.

6. What is your favourite food and drink? My favourite food has got to be Chicken Fajitas and drink is definitely Irn Bru (although probably not at the same time)

7. Where is your favourite place in the world and why? I did a lot of travelling as a child and saw some amazing places. My favourite place was the Philippines though. The people were just the most kind and generous I’ve ever met.

8. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend? Go to an away game in the Pro 14 rugby or 6 nations. Munster vs Edinburgh at Thomond park is next on my list.

9. What was the best book or series that you’ve ever read? I read a book called “Downturn Abbey” by Paul Howard. I don’t often read a book more than once but I’ve read that one 3 times.

10. What was the first single you bought or track you downloaded? “A little less conversation” Elvis vs JXL. Remember that Nike advert with the footballers in the cage? I still think it is a good song, so I’m not too embarrassed by it.
